In-Person & Online Counselling

Attuned Counselling Services

At Attuned Counselling Cromwell, I offer individual counselling sessions for adolescents and adults, both in person and online across New Zealand. Each session lasts 60 minutes, providing a calm, supportive space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace.

My inclusive and culturally attuned approach ensures that you’re met with empathy, understanding, and genuine care - with every session is tailored to your unique needs.

Grounded, evidence-based, and client-led, each session is designed to help you feel seen, heard, and supported - wherever you are on your journey.

How it works - Online &
In-Person Counselling

What To Expect From Your Session

Your counselling session is a space designed entirely for you.

When you arrive for an in-person session in Cromwell, you’ll be welcomed into a calm, comfortable setting - offered a cup of tea, coffee, or water, and given a moment to settle in. From there, you guide the conversation. Sessions flow naturally, focusing on what feels most important to you on the day.

If you’re joining online, the experience is similar. I recommend finding a quiet, peaceful space, setting yourself up with a warm drink, and choosing a comfortable chair near natural light. If the weather allows, open a window for fresh air. The goal is to create a calm environment where you feel grounded and supported, wherever you are.

Every session lasts for 60 minutes - giving you space and time to explore, reflect, and move toward the clarity and balance you’re seeking.

Attuned Counselling FAQs

  • If you’re asking this question, you’re already tuning into something important. People seek counselling for many reasons - feeling overwhelmed, stuck, low, anxious, grieving, or simply wanting space to process life’s changes. You don’t need to reach a crisis point to benefit from support. Counselling can help you make sense of your thoughts and emotions, build clarity and resilience, and create space to breathe. If you’re unsure, you’re welcome to try one session and see how it feels - there’s no pressure or commitment required.

  • Counselling sessions are $130 + booking fee and payment is required at the time of booking. You’re welcome to pay the full amount upfront, or choose a 50% deposit option for both in-person and online sessions.

  • There’s no fixed number of sessions - everyone’s needs are different. The length of your counselling journey depends on how you're feeling, what you’re working through, and the progress or personal shifts you experience along the way. At the end of each session, I’ll check in with you about whether you’d like to rebook and offer guidance if I feel further support may be helpful - but there is never any pressure. You’re welcome to come for a single session, short-term support, or longer-term therapy, depending on what feels right for you.

  • Yes - I work with young people aged 12 and older, and you’re welcome to book a session on behalf of your child as long as they know the appointment is being made and consent to attending counselling. They can choose to have you join them for part or all of the session if that feels most comfortable, or they may prefer to meet on their own. If your child chooses a solo session, parents or caregivers will be asked to wait outside the therapy space.

All information shared in counselling remains confidential, unless your child gives permission for certain details to be discussed with you, or if there is a significant safety or health concern that requires disclosure.

  • At this stage, my counselling sessions are not funded. If this changes in the future, I’ll update this information on the website.

  • Each session lasts for 60 Minutes.

  • Yes - online counselling can be just as effective as in-person sessions. You’re given the same dedicated time, space, and support to focus on yourself, reflect, and work through whatever you’re experiencing. As long as you have a quiet, private space and a stable internet connection, online sessions offer the same level of connection, presence, and therapeutic benefit as meeting in person.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule, you’re welcome to do so more than 24 hours before your session for a full refund or free rebooking. Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment will be charged the full session fee, unless there are unforeseen circumstances or illness.

  • My current office is not wheelchair accessible, however, if you use a wheelchair or have an injury that prevents you from walking up stairs, please email me. I can make arrangements to hire another space. There will be no change to your counselling fee.
